As a multidisciplinary experience designer, I make complex systems easier to understand, navigate, and live with, creating experiences that feel clear, thoughtful, and human.

Hello, I’m Mehrafza.

I’ve spent the last 18 years studying, practicing, and teaching design. I use research, systems thinking, storytelling, and making to understand how people move through the world and to imagine better ways for people, services, and systems to meet. I’m interested in the things we often take for granted: how we belong, how we care for one another, and who gets included or left out by the systems around us.

Talk to me about human belonging, inaccessible systems and services, displacement and immigration, nature and farming, the history of food, food politics, education and health, human behavior, and the messy relationship between people and the systems we build.

Associated acts and clients include McKinsey & Company, Rochester Institute of Technology, CHEF iQ, Blue Apron, Kuartis medical, and Children's hospitals.
